obama-broke-democratic-coalitionRicochet : How Obama Broke the Democratic Coalition

Troy Senik, Ed. December 2, 2014

Writing in his column in today’s Washington Examiner, Byron York hits a note that Democrats would do well to take very seriously: “Now that the 2014 elections are over and national politics is all about 2016, Democrats have good reason to worry that, for all his success at the polls, President Obama will leave his party with a toxic legacy…”

The Obama damage is two-fold. First, his success relied on a coalition that likely will not survive, or at least survive at full strength, without Obama himself on the ticket. Secondly, Obama drove a significant portion of white voters away from the Democratic Party. Scissors-32x32.png

Byron York is one of the sharpest minds in journalism. I always seek out his work product. He's correct about this...Obama has built up a cult of personality, and if/when he leaves the stage, his party is screwed. That idea raises the specter of his violating the constitution big-time and refusing to leave at the end of his term. I used to think of that as crazy talk, but as he becomes more and more flagrant with his violations of the law, I become less and less sure of that.

Plus, it's true Obama has driven a lot of white voters away. It's a strategic calculation on the part of the Rats, because they think white people are headed for minority status. I think it's a big mistake, because, while whites are not reproducing fast enough, neither are blacks because of abortion, and there's no guarantee the Latins will side with the Rats. I have long thought if a shooting race-war ever blows up (like what Obama's trying his best to precipitate), blacks will be profoundly shocked when the Hispanic people side up with the white people.

NYT: WORKING-CLASS DISGUST WITH DEMOCRATS HITTING 'DANGEROUS LEVELS'

Progressive New York Times columnist Thomas B. Edsall wrote on Tuesday that Democrats' embrace of Obamacare's redistribution scheme has angered and alienated working-class and middle-class Americans.

"Even though midterm elections favor Republicans, the 2014 results show middle and working-class dissatisfaction with the Democratic Party rising to dangerous levels, which threatens the party's growing demographic advantages," wrote Edsall.

As Breitbart News reported last Wednesday, the latest Gallup poll finds that President Barack Obama's approval rating with working-class white voters has hit an all-time low 27%. Moreover, the Gallup poll's findings were taken from opinion data collected prior to racially-charged riots in Ferguson, Missouri.

Edsall cites numbers showing that working-class and middle-class Americans fully understand that Obamacare takes money from the working class and gives it away to the lower class, thereby making things "worse for people like you and your family." Scissors-32x32.png
