Is Ebola the Same Virus as the Black Death?

Most people assume that the fourteenth-century Black Death that quickly ravaged the western world was a bacterial bubonic plague epidemic caused by flea bites and spread by rats. But the Black Death killed a high proportion of Scandinavians where it was too cold for fleas to survive. Biology of Plagues. If this is correct, the future medical and economic impacts from Ebola have been vastly underestimated.

This strain of the virus is panicking Democrats.

 

A newly infected victim of the Ebola virus has surfaced in the United States. The anxiety level concerning Ebola, at least reflected by the media coverage, was acute before this report, but now is nearing the point where everything else in the news cycle is exhibiting anemia in comparison.

 

But is the white hot media focus on Ebola justified in light of the severity of the health threat to society, or is this an example of the media and the political domain capitalizing on the public’s general sense of nebulous fear of epidemics?

 

Obama is spooking his own party.

 

For this reason, Democrats in close elections are placing the President in quarantine. One doesn’t want to contract the ‘Obama’ virus just before an election.
