A whole new assortment of digital fundraising options deployed by the GOP after the devastating 2012 presidential campaign loss is paying huge dividends and insiders tell Secrets that online collections have broken all records.

Combining high-tech outreach tactics and simple approaches, like selling socks patterned after the colorful pairs worn by former President George H.W. Bush, the Republican National Committee said that it raised online more in the first four months of 2014 than all of last year.

And in March, April and May, the committee beat all-time monthly online fundraising records, and the second quarter of 2014 was the best ever, beating the previous record set during the 2008 presidential election.

The smashed records are the result of the money the RNC poured into its digital and data operations after the election. “They are paying off in how we contact voters in target races and raise money online,” said the insider, who wouldn't divulge exact figures.

The operation was used in a recent Florida House special election where the Republican surprised the political establishment and won. And now it’s also scoring victories in fundraising.Scissors-32x32.png
