Geee
Investors Business Daily: 'Let the buyer beware," the saying goes, and right now unions are wishing they had followed that advice on ObamaCare, especially after their recent failure to win health care concessions from the White House. Originally enthusiastic supporters of ObamaCare, unions now have second thoughts. Two weeks ago, the AFL-CIO passed a resolution at its convention in Los Angeles calling for changes to the president's health care law. Speaking at the meeting, Terence O'Sullivan, president of the Laborers' International Union of North America, said, "If the Affordable Care Act is not fixed ... then I believe it needs to be repealed." What unions mean by fixing the health care law, though, is not a permanent delay of the legislation to protect all Americans, but the carving out of a special benefit that would apply only to union workers. Like other Americans with employer-sponsored health plans, union members receive their health benefits tax-free. But unions now want the administration to grant their members a backroom deal by allowing them to receive the ObamaCare health insurance subsidy as well.
