Valin
Toronto Sun: Tarek Fatah 9/24/13 September 2001 may have shocked the world as we helplessly witnessed the birth of jihadi terror, but September 2013 reminds us that even after a dozen years spending a trillion dollars, we are no closer to defeating the enemy than we were on that dark day in New York City when the Twin Towers fell. In the same week as Somali jihadi terrorists in Nairobi, Kenya slaughtered non-Muslims, their brothers were on a killing spree elsewhere. They blew up a church full of parishioners in Peshawar, Pakistan, took hostages in Mindanao, Philippines, exploded bombs at a funeral in Baghdad, and attacked the Nigerian capital of Abuja. In Syria, gruesome acts of barbarism in the name of Islam continued unabated. (Snip) Now is the time for Islamic organizations to state flatly in their weekly sermons from the pulpit: Just as slavery and concubines are permitted under Islam, but have been abandoned in practice by most Muslims, so too must the doctrine of armed jihad be abandoned.
