Obama’s All Talk on the Economy

obamas-all-talk-economy-michael-baroneNational Review:

We have a president who loves to give campaign speeches to adoring crowds, but who doesn’t seem to have much interest in governing.

That was apparent Wednesday, when Barack Obama delivered the first of several promised “pivot to the economy” speeches at Knox College in Galesburg, Ill., where he spoke eight years ago as a newly elected U.S. senator.

The hour-long speech started off with some characteristic self-referencing — he didn’t have gray hair then, he noted, or a motorcade — and ended with a quotation from Galesburg native Carl Sandburg.

But in between there was not much in the way of serious public policy. Nothing much that seems likely to speed up the nation’s sluggish economic growth or to increase the lowest-in-three-decades labor-force participation.Scissors-32x32.png

President Obama Elected Pope!

July 24, 2013 Posted by Michael Becker

Pope-Obama.jpg

Last I heard, Pope Francis was visiting Brazil and his car took a wrong turn. Obviously something dramatic happened because today it appears that Barack Obama is not only President of the US, he’s now Pope. This should, once and for all, put a stake through the heart of the “Muslim” rumors.

President/Pope Obama pontificated at a campaign rally at Knox College today for one hour and six minutes. A truly Clintonesque homily supposedly on his new initiatives to get the US economy moving. This makes his hundred and thirty second “pivot” back to the economy for a speech, and let’s be clear, talking about the economy is the only thing he’s done for the last five years other than working to regulate the US economy to be the western equivalent of Zimbabwe. Think of it as an affirmative action economy.

You’re probably asking yourself, “What’s this got to do with Barack being Pope?” and that’s an excellent question. Given the level of pontificating he’s been doing lately, well, here’s Webster…

The Obama Presidency disintegrates

By: DrJohn

Glenn Reynolds said that the worse Barack Obama performed the blacker he would get. That is true, but it’s also true that the worse Obama performs the more his inner Karl Marx bleeds through and Obama’s real character is on full display right now.

Gimme what you got

And think for a moment about how Obama is framing his economic speeches. The core of what he’s trying to do, he said at Knox College in Illinois Wednesday, is not to make the economy better or create jobs. It’s to eliminate inequality. Scissors-32x32.png

His phrases: “people who lost their homes through no fault of their own”, “people who lost their jobs through no fault of their own…” You know what: if I own a business and have 10 employees and things get bad, guess what? I’m not going to fire my best employees! Maybe you did lose your job because you weren’t up to snuff Scissors-32x32.png

The core problem has been Mr. Obama’s focus on spreading the wealth rather than creating it. Scissors-32x32.pnghttp://floppingaces.net/2013/07/29/the-obama-presidency-disintegrates/
