An Israel-Hater Heads to the U.N.

By Arnold Ahlert (Bio and Archives) Thursday, June 6, 2013

On Wednesday, President Obama nominated Samantha Power to be US Ambassador to the United Nations. Power has “been a relentless advocate for American interests and values, building partnerships on behalf of democracy and human rights, fighting the scourge of anti-Semitism and combating human trafficking,” the president contended. Power’s record, however, tells a much different tale. Power is, unsurprisingly, not only a radical leftist who believes America is evil and owes the world an apology, but someone with an egregious history of antipathy directed towards Israel. New Republic piece, Power reveals her true disdain for the US “criminal” foreign policy: “U.S. foreign policy,” she said,
needs not tweaking but overhauling. We need: a historical reckoning with crimes committed, sponsored, or permitted by the United States…A country has to look back before it can move forward. Instituting a doctrine of the mea culpa would enhance our credibility by showing that American decision-makers do not endorse the sins of their predecessors.

In 2009, Obama did exactly what Power recommended, and apologized to the Arab world for America’s “sins.” In 2011, the Washington Post revealed how well that approach worked out. “In most countries surveyed, favorable attitudes toward the United States dropped to levels lower than they were during the last year of the Bush administration,” the paper reported Scissors-32x32.png

Obama UN Ambassador Nominee Supported American Invasion of Israel in 2002 '[W]e have to think about lesser evils, especially when the human stakes are becoming ever more pronounced.'

By: Matt Vespa (Diary) | June 6th, 2013 at 02:14 AM

The Institute of International Studies at UC Berkley, which has a long-running program called Conversations with History hosted by its executive director, Harry Kreisler, had a familiar face as a guest in 2002.

. It was here that Power, who will be nominated to be our next Ambassador to the UN, endorsed an invasion of Israel to prevent future genocide in the future.

Radical left-wing Samantha Power representing the United States at the United Nations President Obama Chooses Left-Wing Samantha Power For UN Ambassador Post

By Joseph A. Klein (Bio and Archives) Thursday, June 6, 2013

Samantha Power, who previously served in the Obama administration as Special Assistant to President Obama and Senior Director of Multilateral Affairs on the staff of the National Security Council, is President Obama’s choice to take Susan Rice’s place as the United States’ Ambassador to the United Nations

Obama promoted Rice to serve as his chief national security advisor, a position that is more powerful than the Secretary of State but which does not require Senate confirmation.

In choosing the left-wing radical Samantha Power as our new UN ambassador, Obama is proposing to send to Turtle Bay a self-professed human rights activist with a long record of antipathy towards Israel and a blame-America-first attitude.

Power, for example, attended the 2001 Durban anti-Semitic hatefest that had the Orwellian title of the World Conference against Racism, Scissors-32x32.png

Obama's UN ambassador pick has history of controversial comments

Published June 05, 2013

FoxNews.com

WASHINGTON – The former White House adviser and longtime Obama friend nominated Wednesday as the next U.S. ambassador to the United Nations has a history of controversial comments that could haunt her in confirmation -- including likening U.S. foreign policies to those of the Nazis.

In a March 2003 New Republic magazine essay, Samantha Power wrote that American foreign policy needs a "historical reckoning" which would entail "opening the files" and "acknowledging the force of a mantra we have spent the last decade promoting in Guatemala, South Africa, and Yugoslavia."

She continued: “Instituting a doctrine of the mea culpa would enhance our credibility by showing that American decision-makers do not endorse the sins of their predecessors. Scissors-32x32.png

I have a feeling she is not going to have fun at her Senate hearing for confirmation.

Maybe she will show ready to work ahlert060613.jpg
