Geee
American Spectator: Thanks to ubiquitous if imperfectly honest press coverage, most Americans know about the IRS scandal involving tax-exempt applications from various Tea Party groups. The public is still, however, getting the mushroom treatment on two other outrages by that rogue agency. The media have devoted scant coverage to its theft of 60 million medical records, now the subject of a class action lawsuit, and they have been all but silent regarding the illegal IRS scheme to fund Obamacare’s federal insurance exchanges. As scary as is the medical record theft, which I wrote about here last week, the more important of these two additional scandals involves IRS skullduggery relating to the exchanges. A year ago, the IRS finalized a regulatory ruling to the effect that it will issue tax credits through Obamacare’s federal insurance exchanges. Why is that such a big deal? Well, the IRS has been granted no legal authority, by the Affordable Care Act (PPACA) or any other act of Congress, to issue such credits. In fact, the ruling flouts the explicit language of Obamacare.
Draggingtree
Washington launches four different investigations into IRS scandal10:14 PM 05/27/2013 Patrick Howley Investigative Reporter Capitol Hill aides spent their Memorial Day weekend scanning hundreds of pages of documents related to the IRS scandal in order to prepare their bosses for what will inevitably be a frantic month of June involving multiple simultaneous investigations into government wrongdoing. By the time lawmakers return to session next week, at least four different investigations will be underway. As The Daily Caller has reported, at least five different IRS offices including Cincinnati, Ohio; Baltimore, Maryland; Chicago, Illinois and El Monte and Laguna Niguel, California improperly targeted conservative nonprofit groups for extra scrutiny between 2010 and 2012. The IRS’ shenanigans, chronicled in http://dailycaller.com/2013/05/27/washington-launches-four-different-investigations-into-irs-scandal/
Casino67
Well, I hate to bust anyone's bubble, but Lawrence O'Donnell just said tonight that the IRS did NOTHING wrong. They were just doing what they were supposed to do by investigating those nasty TP groups and others trying to get a tax-exemption they didn't deserve. So that's it. We can all go back to bitching about Holder and the State Dept. That is until tomorrow night when Larry tells us why they did nothing wrong. So disappointed.
