Valin
Washington Examiner: Paul Bedard 5/23/13 If investigators show that the White House was involved in the growing IRS-Tea Party scandal, which has robbed Democrats of the so-called "trust edge" they held over Republicans, it could jeopardize the Democratic majority in the Senate and even the hopes of Democrats like that Hillary Clinton should she run for president in 2016. A White House link "hurts the Democratic Party and will hurt anybody who runs for president in 2016," said former Clinton White House counsel Lanny Davis, a major supporter of Hillary Clinton. Speaking on national radio's Andrea Tantaros Show, he explained that if the the White House had prior knowledge of the IRS scandal or was actively involved in the political targeting, "It will make it almost impossible to elect a [Democratic] president...I'm nervous." Meanwhile several Democratic and GOP political advisors told Secrets that the combined scandals--IRS, Benghazi and the media source hunt--threatens the Democratic grip on the Senate. House advisors are even predicting that they will pick up nearly 10 seats if the scandals continue to eat away at the party's trust. Valin
Now This.... White House counsel met with top treasury lawyer three times last year after learning of IRS audit Paul Mirengoff May 23, 2013 The Daily Caller reports that White House Counsel Kathryn Ruemmler had three unprecedented one-on-one meetings last year with the Treasury Department’s chief lawyer, Chistopher Meade. The meetings were in September and December of 2012. Meade had known about the inspector general’s investigation of the IRS’s targeting of conservative nonprofits since at least June 2012. According to the Daily Caller, Ruemmler had never previous met with Meade one-on-one. (Snip) Ruemmler says she didn’t learn about the audit until last month. But the timing of her meetings with Meade casts suspicion on that claim. Ordinarily, one would expect that the blockbuster IRS audit would a topic, if not Topic A, in any discussion between the top Treasury Department lawyer and the top White House lawyer.
