Union Violence in the Age of Obama

Not so many moons ago, President Obama urged us all to “make sure that we are talking with each other in a way that heals, not a way that wounds.” He Who Heals advocated “a more civil and honest public discourse” in the wake of the January 2011 Tucson massacre. As usual, though, the White House has granted Big Labor bullies a permanent waiver from the lofty edicts it issues to everyone else.

This week, menacing union goons unleashed threats, profanity, and punches in Michigan, which is now poised to become a “right-to-work” state. Obama met the initial outbreak of violence with the same response he’s given to every other outbreak of union violence under his reign: dead silence.

On the floor of the Michigan legislature on Tuesday, Democratic state representative Douglas Geiss thundered: “We’re going to pass something that will undo 100 years of labor relations, and there will be blood. There will be repercussions!” Geiss referred to the Battle of the Overpass, a violent incident in 1937 between the United Auto Workers and corporate-security officers for the Ford Motor Company. Dozens of union activists were beaten.Scissors-32x32.png

I happen to be watching MSDNC earlier today and they mentioned the RTW bill in Michigan. Not one word about the violence by the union thugs at yesterdays demonstration. Then they read a "fact sheet" written by a union representative about how RTW laws were so bad for the employees. No bias at all. smile.png

It may be time for an intervention.....

Was just watching for a few laughs, after I saw all of the Fox stories. I even watch CNN occasionally.

Yes, Democrats & the Unions have been so good for Destroy-it Detritus Detroit, that they can't function without more union jobs....and the continual extorted payments for union chief thugs officials, and for politico's that keep the sheep in place. There is actual law, on the books, that allows for a certain amount of violence in union related protests:

From Wiki:

Under the United States Supreme Court's 1973 Enmons decision (United States v. Enmons), the actions of union officials in organizing strikes and other united acts of workers are exempt from prosecution under US federal anti-extortion law. Similar legal protections are enjoyed by unions in other democratic countries.[citation needed] These protections do not however confer any immunity from prosecution for violent acts.

Media Ignores Union Violence: Flashback to Palin’s 2008 ‘Target’ Outrage

As unions again run amuck, this time in Michigan, the Old Media establishment has steadfastly refused to report on the union’s violence, not to mention the “violent rhetoric” coming from their advocates. But this is in stark contrast to the Summer of 2011 when the Old Media was hot to condemn the supposed “violent rhetoric” of Republicans such as Sarah Palin, Andrew Breitbart, and talk radio hosts.

In Michigan this week unions have once again shown why the term “union thug” is no misnomer by beating up people and engaging in property destruction, intimidation, and violence all in order to turn back Michigan’s right-to-work legislation passing through the state’s duly elected legislature.
