Secretary of State John Kerry?

It’s natural that the transition from a first presidential term to a second is an avenue for some cabinet members to make an undramatic exit.

The anticipated departure of Secretary of State Hillary Clinton has been predicted for some time — long before Benghazi — as she’s made clear she’s looking forward to this chapter ending and heading out the door.

This sets the stage for a dramatic entrance to fill the spot.

Imagine, if you will, Secretary of State John Kerry.

The chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee — and failed 2004 presidential candidate — has long lusted after the prospect of becoming America’s top diplomat.

As chairman, the Massachusetts Democrat has already undertaken some self-appointed diplomatic missions, such as going to Pakistan to attempt a reset of relations and going to Egypt to talk “democratic transformation” with the Muslim Brotherhood.Scissors-32x32.png

Well let's hope O pulls a bunch of sitting senators into the replacement position. Maybe give us a better shot in 2 years for the Senate.

Obama considering John Kerry for job of defense secretary

By Karen DeYoung and Greg Miller,

The Washington Post

President Obama is considering asking Sen. John F. Kerry (D-Mass.) to serve as his next defense secretary, part of an extensive rearrangement of his national security team that will include a permanent replacement for former CIA director David H. Petraeus.

Although Kerry is thought to covet the job of secretary of state, senior administration officials familiar with the transition planning said that nomination will almost certainly go to Susan E. Rice, the U.S. ambassador to the United Nations. Scissors-32x32.png

Was this taken when he was helping with Obama's colonoscopy debate prep?

If he gets to be SecDef......does he get to throw other peoples medals away?

@SrWoodchuck @Draggingtree @Geee

On second thought, Kerry really would be a great choice as Secretary of Defense:

We currently have limited ROE

We don't support our forces in the field

We have no victory strategy, only a pull back date

We have a spineless CiC

The generals seem to have lots of time for non essential things so they may be able to learn Kerry a thing or three

----Sounds tailor made to me
