The Struggle for Obama is Really a Religious Battle Over the Soul of the Republic

Why the grim struggle waged over an eminently forgettable, laughably amateurish poseur—Barack Obama, in all his tragic and self-deluded grandeur? Actually this raging battle is for stakes so much larger than what’s on the surface it’s difficult to fathom. You see, personalities aside, we are caught in a titanic struggle over the soul of of America—regarding our collective DNA—what we believe and who we are. Progressive forces are trying to birth into being a neo-pagan kingdom, with all that implies, symbolized by the Democrat National Convention dropping Israel and Godfrom the party platform. Those on the right are struggling to balance the original outline of US colonial theory with ever present demands for modernization—which will be our demise if carried too far.

The ultimate war revolves around freedom and liberty—and whether our rights will be finally handed over to the godlike state. Or, if a revival of republicanism, patriotism, constitutional principals and faith can be fostered to create a new American century. The core of this war is located in religious convictions—biblical versus political pseudo-religion. What is at stake is absolutely colossal for our nation’s future and survival. The very nature of America’s religious model has come under sustained fire from humanism’s steely gaze…as blank and pitiless as the sun. The culprit is a reborn paganism, a bloodless foe which cannot brook opposition or dissent. Therefore, as with all fundamentalism—it demands the conversion or death of its enemies—that is, non-believers, non-liberals.

What some call the natural decay of culture is, in our case, actually the sustained efforts of Marxists to dissolve the foundation of America’s strength—our religious convictions and institutions. The intent is to suck out religion and leave humanism in its place. This effort, while at times as silent as the work of termites, has hugely succeeded as the culture war spreads from battlefield to battlefield, ridge to ridge, and in innumerable hand-to-hand urban guerillas fights. The outcome will decide whether America retains belief in One, true God—or falls into rank apostasy. Further, Eric Voegelin would assert the underlying war is over modern mankind’s attempt to kill God—deicide—in order to obscure the monstrous nature of his own sin.

When we get right down to it, there is nothing new in this fight. Two arguments A. Is there a God/Gods? Is the material all there is? B. If as I suspect there is someone/something beyond the material, then there may be some rules.

This is the question.

The problem is today people may say "I believe is God", BUT they live their lives like there isn't.

The Left looks to Government to force us to "Do Good", of course the question is What do you mean by Good? Is it really good to make people dependent on a bureaucracy for their food and shelter?

Just one more opinion.

In modern history only governments that downplayed or refused to accept a 'god' failed. God-fearing countries tend to survive, even in ways we, as Americans, don't particularly accept.

The USSR is gone and China is on its way out as a form of government.

This author is new to me - though I am very familiar with Canada Free Press - but he is RIGHT ON.

This article should be mandatory reading.

O'Connell understands. He has a World View and a world perspective that most of Western civilization has embraced and shared since about 33 AD and the Jews shared with mankind before that monumental date.

The first comment by a supposed Christian( Posted by Don_in_Odessa on 10/22 at 07:00 AM ) that I saw really exemplifies what is so dangerous right now. Narrow minded tunnel vision with no sense of history, no critical thinking and no true understanding of the nature of mankind in relationship to the One True Creator God of the Bible. Just a bunch of humanistic liberal political correctness pablum

What really scares me is that I see his ilk in my church, in my neighborhood, in teachers and in my government.

It's not just here in America.

The results of neglect: The London Riots of 2011

I do not teach Dylan Page, but I know who he is. Everyone at our school knows who Dylan is. He comes and goes to lessons as he pleases, habitually swears at teachers, and is an accomplished playground bully. After a year of horrifying stories, there is not a single thing I could hear about Dylan's behaviour that I would not believe.

There has been renewed interest in the role of morality in schooling over the past year, with much of the debate centred on the importance of "character". In the aftermath of the dreadful energy released by the August riots in 2011, many public figures looked to schools to play a greater role in nurturing the character of their pupils. Speaking in the House of Lords after the emergency recalling of Parliament, the Archbishop of Canterbury pointed the finger at an "educational philosophy" which over the last two decades has become "less and less concerned with a building of virtue, character and citizenship — ‘civic excellence' as we might say." In May, the Master of Wellington College, Anthony Seldon, wrote in the Daily Telegraph: "Character, and specifically its neglect, is the number one issue of our age."

This aversion to moral education is embedded in most of Britain's teacher-training courses. At the beginning of my Post Graduate Certificate in Education (PGCE), a lecturer was asked about behaviour in the classroom. He responded with the astounding claim, "I am a sociologist. I don't judge misbehaviour, I understand it." Our initial reading lists stuck to the prophets of "progressive" education, such as the Soviet psychologist Lev Vygotsky. Vygotsky died in 1934 and is mostly forgotten by the rest of the world, but his spectre still haunts university education departments. In his 1926 work Educational Psychology he wrote: "From the standpoint of social psychology, ethics must be looked upon as a certain form of social behaviour that was established and evolved in the interests of the ruling class, and is different for different classes." To this day, many middle-class teachers are constrained by the guilt complex of vulgar Marxism. They are uncomfortable with compounding the oppression of the masses by expecting pupils to uphold the moral norms of "bourgeois society".

Actually this kind of progressive humanistic secularism got a toe hold in Europe years ago.

NCT and I saw it first hand living in France and traveling all over . We noticed the same mind set beginning in this Country when we returned (maybe before we left to go overseas it was here but we were oblivious to the pervasive danger). Anyway I remember trying to explain many times online and in person but no one wanted to hear. Instead I was ignored and viewed as the bigoted, ignorant Theocrat.

Probably still am by some.

I can remember back in the 70's Francis Schaeffer warning about Post Christian Europe, and how it was coming here.

The good news is, Trends Which Cannot Continue....Won't.

Look at the Tea Party, here we have a large nationwide movement protesting and wanting the government to do Less!
