In any case, it is interesting to me to see which party dresses in a more sexualized way. The women at the Dem convention tended to look feminine and attractive, but dressed in a way that says "take me seriously for my mind." I'll leave the comparisons to others.

 

(And to be fair, this is only based on photos I've seen of people today online.)

They really do. It's not so much Race obsessed as group obsession. What (IMO) we see starting with FDR is a party that not so much is united by an idea or ideas but a collection of groups that have united to get power or Stuff by coming together. Look at what we saw last night, Blacks (pro-life anti-gay) Women (pro-choice) socialists (anti-capitalists) labor unions (more money), all coming together to nominate a guy who is still a blank slate, to each one of these groups, He's Their Guy.

 

We Republicans/Conservatives (IMO) are united by the idea limited government. Now what is meant by Limited Government is a subject for debate. Olympia Snowe and Ron Paul both mean two very different things when they talk about Limited Government, but they both recognize there is a limit.
