Ricochet: Wary of Energy Independence

Having just listened to Peter Robinson's interview with Charles Hill and Fouad Ajami, I was struck by what was not said when Mr. Robinson brought up the issue of energy independence.

Now to the point: why do people think energy independence from Islamic oil is such a good thing? I understand the upside to energy independence, but no one looks at the downside.

My point: ending the world's need for Islamic oil will result in a greater surge of Islamic violence. If the Islamic zealots don't conquer the world, then they will be satisfied with taking down as many as they can.
