Liberal Dem Rep. Jan Schakowsky Disrespects American Flag During Gay Pride Parade…

Infuriating on so many different levels.

Via Rebel Pundit:

On Sunday, June 24, Congresswoman Jan Schakowsky (D-IL) marched in Chicago’s annual Gay Pride Parade.

According to the U.S. Code Title 36 Chapter 10 §175, there were many violations by Congresswoman and her staff with respect to displaying the flag [in bold].

§175. Position and manner of display

The flag, when carried in a procession with another flag or flags, should be either on the marching right; that is, the flag’s own right, or, if there is a line of other flags, in front of the center of that line.

(a) The flag should not be displayed on a float in a parade except from a staff, or as provided in subsection (i) of this section.

(B)The flag should not be draped over the hood, top, sides, or back of a vehicle or of a railroad train or a boat. When the flag is displayed on a motorcar, the staff shall be fixed firmly to the chassis or clamped to the right fender.

© No other flag or pennant should be placed above or, if on the same level, to the right of the flag of the United States of America, except during church services conducted by naval chaplains at sea, when the church pennant may be flown above the flag during church services for the personnel of the Navy. No person shall display the flag of the United Nations or any other national or international flag equal, above, or in a position of superior prominence or honor to, or in place of, the flag of the United States at any place within the United States or any Territory or possession thereof: Provided, That nothing in this section shall make unlawful the continuance of the practice heretofore followed of displaying the flag of the United Nations in a position of superior prominence or honor, and other national flags in positions of equal prominence or honor, with that of the flag of the United States at the headquarters of the United Nations.Scissors-32x32.png Read More

pollyannaish

I am more concerned about people who disrespect the flag "spiritually", than those who disrespect it physically. To me, one is simply the symptom of the other. This does not surprise me one bit.

@Evad

Given what else is going on, I just have a hard time working up a lot of outrage over this.

Totally agree.

I don't have "outrage" and don't really worry about "hood ornament" flag protocol...

However I have a major problem with elected politicians pandering at events like this... which revolve around the flaunting of perverse debauchery.

Using the flag as a fig leave of acceptability... does bother me.

If everyone thinks that makes me a right winged bigot... so be it.

Scene from the same Chicago pride parade.

I have mentioned over at CGP that this is exactly the kind of thing that does their movement no good.

Whether it's Chicago, San Francisco, Des Moines, or Mayberry.....

This is the face and heart of the "movement"...

I have gay family members and friends that have not part in the movement.

I don't have a problem with anyone's orientation...

However, I have major problems with it being a "movement" and a vehicle for Liberal Political polarizing tactics.

That's what apparently they don't get.
