A Rain Of Rockets Ruins Peace Talks

In the last eight days Palestinian terrorists have fired over 150 rockets and mortar shells from Gaza into southern Israel. Five Israelis have been wounded. Israel counter attacks on terrorist targets in Gaza have killed at least twelve and wounded about a hundred. Hamas has tried to arrange several ceasefires, but none have worked. The problem is that Hamas is unwilling to control the smaller Islamic terror groups in Gaza that will not abide by any ceasefire and continue to attack Israel with rockets and mortar shells. So far this year, only 400 rockets and mortar shells have been fired from Gaza into southern Israel.

 

Hamas and Fatah both continue to increase the amount of anti-Israel propaganda they broadcast on media outlets (TV, radio, Internet, print) they control. This has become a problem for foreign aid organizations, including the UN, that contribute much money and other aid to Palestinians. That's because some of this aid is blatantly being used to pay for the "Israel must be destroyed" propaganda. At the same time, Western nations continue to pressure Israel to make peace with the Palestinians. But according to what the Palestinian leadership preaches to their own people, the only acceptable solution is the destruction of Israel. Pressure from the West to drop this genocidal goal is ignored (publicly by Hamas, privately by Fatah.) Even Arab allies of the Palestinians are urging real peace negotiations, but the Palestinian leadership wants no part of that.
