Geee
Congress.org: Will Paul Clement be appointed to the Supreme Court? The Republican lawyer who argued against the Obamacare law before the nation’s highest court is considered a top prospect should Mitt Romney win, reports CQ’s John Gramlich. A former solicitor general in the Bush administration, Clement now works at a small Washington firm. He’s argued 60 cases before the Supreme Court, including seven this term. Among his cases: * Defending the Defense of Marriage Act on behalf of the House in a lower court. * Defending South Carolina’s Republican-backed voter ID law in a lower court. * Defending Arizona’s Republican-backed immigration law in the Supreme Court.
