lightningbolt.gif I am so embarrassed that our country is headed by such a moron. What must the world think? I know MY Canadian friends just hoot and holler over the stupidity of Obama, the people who support him and some of the expectations of those who helped get him elected. And my friends live in a very socialist environment. They still tell me we should move to Canada . . . they expect things in the US to get nothing but worse.

MoveOn rips DNC in push for Wisconsin Recall funds

Anne Sorock

May 15, 2012

MoveOn.org sent out an email late today blasting the DNC for refusing to invest in the recall Walker efforts in Wisconsin:

Dear MoveOn member,

BREAKING NEWS FROM WISCONSIN: The Democratic National Committee isn’t investing in the massive get out the vote effort in Wisconsin to recall Scott Walker.

Wisconsin is ground zero for Democrats this summer—and there are only three weeks before Election Day—which is why this breaking news just doesn’t make sense.

Scott Walker and his right-wing allies have spent millions, and they’ll spend millions more in the next few weeks. But Walker’s poll numbers won’t budge and if the Wisconsin Democrats can run the massive field program they have planned, we can win this.

But the DNC’s lack of support has left a huge hole in the get out the vote budget. So MoveOn members need to step up. Can you help recall Walker?

Chip in $5 to the Wisconsin Democrats on ActBlue to beat Scott Walker.

Wisconsin citizens, with the support of activists from all around the country, have accomplished more than anyone thought possible. They’ve inspired all of us, and put fear into the hearts of other governors who wanted to attack the 99%. But if Walker survives the recall, we’ll have wasted a year of effort.

With only a few weeks left, we can’t wait for the Democratic National Committee to chip in. We have to do it ourselves.

Can you chip in $5 today via ActBlue to make sure that Scott Walker is finally recalled from office?

Thanks for all you do.

–Daniel, Levana, and the rest of the team

STORY TIME

Last night I went to bed around 1 AM. Watched TV for a few hours and finally fell asleep around 5AM. Woke up about 11AM and watched the news for awhile.

Finally got out of bed and came into my cave, turned on the puter and started the coffee. Fed the cats/kittens.

Sat down at puter and lo and behold, my keyboard is missing. Maybe the cats knocked in on the floor. Searched and searched and no keyboard. Expanded search to other rooms. Even looked in the fridge just in case. (I am getting old after all.) No keyboard.

Looked in my bed, trash, even my deck. No keyboard.

Finally accepted the fact that it was gone. Went to Best Buy and got another kb. Thought as soon as I got another one, the first one would appear. Nope. Still missing.

Doors were locked, I can't imagine someone would come in and just take my kb. As of this writing it is still a mystery as to what happened to it.

Moral of the story, don't get old and forgetful.

To be continued?????

Old and forgetful is one thing, who moves their keyboard anywhere except to clean (you weren't cleaning where you?)

What is 'cleaning'? :) No, i would not have started cleaning a 1AM.

I have tried sitting very calmly and trying to get my brain to remember. Isn't working.

Great news: McCain to partner with Democrats on campaign finance reform again

No one is really surprised by this, right? John McCain blasted the Supreme Court in January for gutting his signature McCain-Feingold law by, er, not allowing the federal government to criminalize political speech. At the time, he warned that super-PACs would “destroy the political process.” Now McCain wants to rein in the super-PACs, and he’s going to partner with Democrats to kneecap them:

Good-government advocates who worked with McCain in the 1990s and early 2000s had begun to think he’d given up on the issue. But McCain said Tuesday he could join Democrats once again to form a bipartisan coalition, even though it would annoy the Republican leadership.

“I’ve been having discussions with Sen. [sheldon] Whitehouse [D-R.I.] and a couple others on the issue,” McCain told The Hill.

Bankers deserting Obama for Romney

posted at 2:01 pm on May 16, 2012 by Ed Morrissey

Scissors-32x32.png

Why did fundraising for Team Obama drop so precipitously in April? The Boston Globe provides one possible answer. In 2008, Barack Obama attracted a lot of support from the banking industry. This time around, they have deserted Obama in favor of Mitt Romney (via News Alert):

When the head of JPMorgan Chase met with shareholders to answer for a trading loss of more than $2 billion Tuesday, it was against an evolving political backdrop: Donors from big banks are betting on Mitt Romney to defeat President Obama and repeal new restraints on risky, large-scale investments.

“There’s no doubt that there’s been a big diminution of support for the president,’’ said William M. Daley, Obama’s former chief of staff and a former top JPMorgan Chase executive. “People in the financial services sector are saying, ‘The president has been too tough on us, both in policy and on rhetoric.’ ’’

Is it panic time at Obama headquarters in Chicago? You might get that impression from watching events -- and the polls -- over the past few weeks.

In matchups against Mitt Romney, the president is leading by only 47 to 45 percent in the Realclearpolitics.com average of recent polls. A CBS/New York Times panel-back poll, in which interviewers call back respondents to a previous survey, showed Romney leading 46 to 43 percent -- and leading among women.
