HOUSTON—Community members hit the streets of Houston Sunday, to protest the state’s new voter identification law.

Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee and local pastors led the rally at Christian Hope Baptist Church in the Third Ward.

They’re opposed to a new law that says Texans must show a photo ID to cast their ballot. Supporters say it’s to prevent voter fraud, but pastors say, that just doesn’t make sense.

Similar legislation has also passed in other states.

The Justice department is expected to rule Monday on whether the Texas voter ID law violates federal law. koolaid.gif

Well I was not surprised huh.png

Needless to say the Justice Department is not a friend of Texas or the rule of law, in 2008 Supreme Court upheld Indiana’s voter-identification law.
