Those Californians grow even fonder of Obama's job performance

Californians must love $4 gas, enroute to $5. And a stubbornly high unemployment rate.

Now, if only the Golden state could become the official ATM for Campaign Obama. So the overworked guy wouldn't have to deal with any real issues, citizens or media on his regular trips to the left coast.

He could just fly his 747 into LA or San Francisco, tie up traffic, squeeze $35G's out of awed supporters for the same predictable fundraiser speech (change is hard, there's more to do) and head out to milk Western boosters elsewhere.

Oh, wait! He's already doing that every couple of months.

As a result, President Obama's favorable rating in the nation's most populous state, the one that's been experiencing state unemployment around 11-13% in the Obama economy, is improving nicely when it wasn't all that bad to begin with.

Californians have always liked this POTUS. They're liking him even more nowadays. And why not? He spends like California governments. He says he likes them. He's got his own plane, but he likes the idea of regular Americans paying for high-speed railroads that no one would ride and no one can afford.

A new Field Poll just out finds that once again a majority of Californians now rate this president's job performance really positively, at 53%. Only 39% disapprove of his job. Great reelection news for just 256 days from now.

The 14-point positive gap between those numbers is up from just four points difference in November (48%-44%) and two points difference in September (46%-44%).

Not surprisingly Democrats approve of Obama's job performance the most, 77% very positive approval to only 17% disapproval. A majority of California's alleged independents really like him too, 54% to 36%.

What's Guinness Book-amazing is that somewhere Field found 19% of professed Republicans who approve of Obama's performance, to only 75% who don't like the guy's work product, what there is of it.

Obviously, since Californians like the Democrat more now, they are feeling even more certain that he should have four additional years to take them for granted and fundamentally transform the country into something else, at no cost to anyone except maybe those folks who blindly handed him $35G's to be wowed and wooed.Scissors-32x32.png
