Casino67
Associated Press:WASHINGTON (AP) -- Authorities say two out-of-state doctors who traveled to Maryland to perform late-term abortions have been arrested and charged with multiple counts of murder, an unusual use of a law that allows for murder charges in the death of a viable fetus.Dr. Steven Brigham, of Voorhees, N.J., was taken into custody Wednesday night and is being held in the Camden County jail, according to police in Elkton, Md. Authorities also arrested Dr. Nicola Riley in Salt Lake City and she is in jail in Utah. Each is awaiting an extradition hearing.A grand jury indicted the two doctors after a 16-month investigation, police said. The investigation began in August 2010 after what authorities say was a botched procedure at Brigham's clinic in Elkton, located near the border of Maryland and Delaware.________________________I personally hope they get convicted. Story may not be for the queasy.
Valin
Casino67 Now we present a slightly different non judgmental, (or maybe mentally juggled) view This Cultural Christian: Doctor Nicola Riley of Utah – Victim of the American Politics of Vagina and Christian Sharia (Snip) I shall not comment on some of the aspects of this case, but I do know Doctor Nicola Riley personally. I have known her since she was a young teen and can remember when she went off to West Point in those days when females at the Point was a novel thing. I don’t know anything about her legal problems in the military but she left prison to start a new life and entered Medical School in Utah. Her services to the elderly and the poor were needed there until such services got commoditized on some big corporate spreadsheet thing in Utah. Geee
UK Telegraph:The tiny bodies were found in the Maryland practice of Dr Steven Brigham, who was arrested in New Jersey on Wednesday night. His colleague, Dr Nicola Riley, was also arrested in Utah. Both are likely to be extradited to Maryland where between them they face 12 counts of murder for allegedly terminating viable fetuses. One of the abortions is believed to have taken place at 36 weeks, well beyond the point at which most fetuses are able to survive outside of the womb. The charges come at the end of 16-month investigation that began when in August 2010 after a botched procedure at the clinic. According to a previous investigation by medical regulators, an 18-year-old woman was left with a ruptured uterus and injuries to her bowel after undergoing an abortion procedure by the doctors.Rather than call for an ambulance, they drove her to a nearby hospital where they allegedly would not cooperate with emergency room staff and Dr Brigham refused to give his name. The 18-year-old survived but the incident prompted investigations by both police and the medical community, leading to the discovery at the clinic. Casino67
I think someone is angry. Don't know how someone can try to defend those doctors.
