The U.S. cut off funding to the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) on Monday after the U.N. organization became the first to admit Palestine as a full member state.

A 1994 law bars U.S. contributions "to any affiliated organization of the United Nations which grants full membership as a state to any organization or group that does not have the internationally recognized attributes of statehood."

U.S. ambassador to the U.N. Susan Rice called the vote “deeply damaging to UNESCO” over Twitter on Monday, and a number of other lawmakers were quick to condemn the vote, including Rep. Ileana Ros-Lehtinen (R-Fla.), the chairwoman the House Foreign Affairs Committee.

Arab League chief Nabil Elaraby said Tuesday that the US's decision to cut UNESCO funding after the cultural agency approved Palestinian membership will deal a blow to reviving Middle East peace talks, according to statement, AFP reported.

Arabi expressed his "extreme astonishment" at the decision by Washington and said "such an American step gives a negative indication of the possibility of success in the efforts to revive stalled peace talks," the statement quoted him as saying.

Extreme astonishment that the US followed our law probably.

I've read that Obama & ilk are already devising ways to "get around" this law....'cause..."They Can't Wait."

"Mid-East Peace Talks".......is an incongruity.......Palestinian's & Jihadists do not negotiate. They threaten, bluster, coerce, defame, extort, obfuscate, steal, bribe, blackmail, prevaricate & kill.....in the name of their agenda.....which is extermination of Jews & the State of Israel, and world domination through establishment of the Caliphate.

What were the borders of the "Palestinian" State? It's state history? It's currency? It's elected leaders? It's boundaries? Many indigenous peoples & cultures, do not make a state. Israel existed before our current era, as a nation, as a state, and as a people. It's capitol was Jerusalem.

BTW: "Palestinians" are allowed to exist in peace with Israel [if they choose to do so].....but Israel will cease to exist, if the continued push for Palestinian acceptance is allowed to come to fruition.....and the ultimate goal of Islamic Jihad comes to pass.......but, I repeat myself.
