Chicago Tribune:

A spokesman for the Occupy Wall Street group encamped in a Lower Manhattan park said demonstrators do not plan to move, after New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg announced they must vacate the area for a cleaning Friday morning.

Tyler Combelic said the mayor's anouncement was a "not-so-veiled attempt" to force the protesters from the park, setting up a possible confrontation with authorities.

"We have decided that at 7 o'clock tomorrow, we will not leave the park," he said, adding that "we are not opposed to cleaning it ourselves." :snip:

The cleaning will be done in several stages, and when certain areas are cleaned, protesters will be able to come back to the park if they obey the rules set forth by the owners, Brookfield Properties, the statement said. :snip:

Evidently the owners are asking that park rules against sleeping, lying on benches, tarps, etc. be enforced. This could get interesting...

New York City's top cop said Thursday that the "Occupy Wall Street" protesters who clear out of Zuccotti Park Friday, so their makeshift campsite can get a much-needed cleaning, can come back when the job is finished -- but they can't bring their tents, coolers and other gear with them.

"People will have to remove all their belongings and leave the park," Police Commissioner Ray Kelly said. "After it's cleaned, they'll be able to come back. But they won't be able to bring back the gear, the sleeping bags, that sort of thing will not be able to be brought back into the park."
