Valin
Commentary/Contentions:Michael Rubin8/19/11It is tough to be a woman in Saudi Arabia: Women cannot go outside their home without a husband or a male family member to escort them and famously cannot drive. They have no vote although, again, pretty much no one in Saudi Arabia does. The State Department advises women traveling unescorted that restaurants may refuse them service. Because of the myriad restrictions, most Saudi women cannot work in public places. A 2005 law which would have allowed women to work in public shops remains unimplemented. But if women cannot work, then pity the poor bra salesmen who must sell lingerie to women in the Islamist kingdom. According to an expose in Hurriyet:Women in Saudi Arabia have to buy their intimate clothing from male clerks. Such irony … This causes much embarrassment for women customers seeking advice on cup sizes in lingerie stores. The shops are also not allowed to have fitting rooms. And the biggest complaint is that male clerks in general try to guess customers’ bra sizes by staring at their abayas. SrWoodchuck
Saudi women would appear to be the perfect "online" & TV shoppers.....talk about a captive audience! May I suggest, "Bismullah's Secret?" They only need to get two things right.....uh.....OK.....they get one thing right & then, they have only one thing left. Casino67
Just an aside. Jamie Ruben is Christiane Amanpour's husband. She probably made him write this article.
SrWoodchuck
Just an aside. Jamie Ruben is Christiane Amanpour's husband. She probably made him write this article. Casino! This is written by, Michael Ruben; but here's an interesting factoid about Christiane Amanpour: The Joy of Ammanpour by sheikyermami on August 9, 2011 (Moonbattery) Last year the New York Slimes did a puff piece on left-wing propagandist Christiane Amanpour (formerly of CNN, now ABC), which included photos of her home. Recognize the oversized picture that dominates her favorite room? She says it’s her favorite item in the apartment, because “It gives me joy every time I walk in my door." Look familiar? Here’s a clue: like Amanpour, the painting comes from Iran. Here’s another clue: How about now? Lil' Christiane is a big supporter of the Ground Zero Abomination Mosque.
