Washington, D.C. - infoZine - Scripps Howard Foundation Wire - The five witnesses were discussing the National Labor Relations Board’s recent proposal that would limit the time between filing petitions and having elections for workers to organize a union.

Indiana University Maurer School of Law professor Kenneth Dau-Schmidt was the only witness who supported the NLRB’s proposal, which could shorten the time from when a petition is filed to when an election takes place to as little as 10 days.

Other witnesses included former NLRB member Peter Schaumber, tube press technician from Dana Corp. Larry Getts, President of Carew Concrete and Supply Company John Carew and Jackson Lewis LLP attorney Michael Lotito.

Years ago a company I worked for had union organizers come around...several of us told them where they could go and several suggestions as to what they could do when they got there.
