The Eugene, Ore., City Council is caught in a patriot war over how many times a year it should recite the Pledge of Allegiance before council meetings. The latest decision -- four times -- is satisfying no one, The Register-Guard reports.

The council, in a compromise on Monday, agreed to recite the pledge at meetings closest to Memorial Day, Veterans Day, Flag day and the Fourth of July.

The flap began several weeks ago, The Register-Guard says, when council member Mike Clark suggested reciting the pledge at the start of bimonthly meetings, but then agreed to scale it back when it was clear a majority wouldn't go along.

The paper quotes Clark as explaining that he was motivated in part to offer a new tradition for constituents who complain that they have to tolerate some Eugene traditions, such as an eccentric city festival each summer, even though it doesn't sit well with them.

Parts of the Oregon population along with a sizable portion of California should be relocated to Reid's neck of the woods, Armpit, Nevada.

Nothing really - but there's a lot space in the salt caverns.

So which one of the 56 remaining states should take these imbiciles in then?

This is a prime example of a subject where good honorable people can disagree. :D
