Judge Unexpectedly Halts Casey Anthony Trial Until Monday

The judge presiding over the trial of a Florida mother charged with killing her 2-year-old daughter unexpectedly recessed court Saturday, citing a legal issue that halted a dozen testimonies that were to be heard from witnesses.

Witnesses were lined up in the courthouse ready to testify in the Casey Anthony trial when the judge made the announcement and the court cleared.

One witness was to offer a second opinion on the chloroform readings that the state's witness, Dr. Arpad Vass, provided from Casey Anthony's trunk.

The trial will resume at 8:30 a.m. ET Monday.

From what I've heard, it sounds like the judge was ticked off at the defense attorneys for not being professional.

The defense has really been strange, all over the place. I think they know they have done such a lousy job that a conviction would be overturned on appeal and then the State trying to avoid the huge expense of another trial will work out a plea deal with her where she can avoid death penalty.
