Only A Few 9/11-Era al-Qaeda Leaders Remain at Large

(CNSNews.com) - The death of al Qaeda founder Osama bin Laden at the hands of U.S. Special Forces on Sunday is a major blow to the core group who led the terrorist organization before the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks.
But the job isn’t finished yet, the Obama administration says.
White House counterterrorism adviser John Brennan told NBC's "Today" show on Tuesday that the Obama administration is determined "to pummel the rest of al-Qaida." He said the organization already has suffered "severe body blows."
Below is a list of senior, 9/11-era al-Qaeda leaders – and what happened to them.

-- Osama bin Laden (founder and leader): Killed May 1, 2011
