The environmental movement began in 1962 when Rachel Carson published her best-selling book Silent Spring. Argyle58 Posted April 23, 2011 Share Posted April 23, 2011 Should have been a longer list. I remember reading a book by John Christopher 20 or so years ago about a man made virus that attacked grass. Since virtually all grains are members of the grass family, this pandemic resulted in global famine. I believe that the name of the book was "The Death of Grass".
