Geee
Washington Examiner:A tree falling in a forest with no one there does make a sound but it's a little hard to hold a presidential debate for Republicans when none of them have officially declared their intention to run. This morning, the Ronald Reagan Presidential Foundation announced that it had rescheduled a debate which was previouly supposed to be held for Republican presidential candidates in May to September 14. The forum is also being sponsored by the newspaper Politico and NBC.Scuttlebutt has it that no one has thrown his/her hat into the ring as everyone is waiting to see what former GOP vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin is going to do. Things are a bit murkier for her given her standing contract with Fox News as a paid staff commentator. That lucrative revenue stream for her would cease if she files to run for president.Side note: Is it just me or does it seem odd that Republicans are teaming up with the corporate parent of MSNBC, television home of their most fecund haters? SrWoodchuck
Geee! Thanks for the post. I agree with you that it's odd. [iMO] The oddity is explained this way: The first sentence of your post states a popular conundrum, as a reference for 2012 GOP presidential candidates. It likens the dearth of candidates & their apparent unwillingness to run, is to be based on Palin's candidacy; to the question of whether a "tree falling in a forest, with no one around, would make a sound?" This assumes & equivocates, that the tree answer is no....and so the reason for no viable candidates; is due to Palin's reticence. The belief that a falling tree makes no sound, when falling unobserved by a sensate being.....must necessarily conclude that sound is only made when heard by an observant being, present at the time. [No sensate observer = no sound] This is not a solely progressive piece of nuance; however, it adapts more easily to their ideology, because it attempts to make you believe that a sole orange, amongst a bushel of apples......must therefor be an apple. The hopeful result of this piece is that you will necessarily conclude that the fate of Republican or conservative 2012 presidential candidates rest comletely upon the whim of a female, former Vice presidential candidate........or that you accept that an orange is really an apple, if it happens to exist in the same space as a bunch of apples......or, that a tree only makes a sound.......if the smartest being in existence......the progressive propagandist, happens to be there to observe it & tell you that it does. AceRimmer
SrWoodchuck! IMO, Palin won't run, because she, along with Newt and Trump, can't win. Why she dithers is my only question, because it only helps the Chosen One.
