CBS News:

On Friday February 11, the day Egyptian president Hosni Mubarak stepped down, CBS correspondent Lara Logan was covering the jubilation in Tahrir Square for a 60 MINUTES story when she and her team and their security were surrounded by a dangerous element amidst the celebration. It was a mob of more than 200 people whipped into frenzy.

In the crush of the mob, she was separated from her crew. She was surrounded and suffered a brutal and sustained sexual assault and beating before being saved by a group of women and an estimated 20 Egyptian soldiers. She reconnected with the CBS team, returned to her hotel and returned to the United States on the first flight the next morning. She is currently in the hospital recovering.snip

How awful for her. Prayers for her recovery.

That is awful for her.

She had been threatened earlier (10 days ago)

CBS News' senior foreign correspondent Lara Logan and her crew were detained on Thursday outside Israel's embassy in Cairo by Egyptian military before being released today. She reported being threatened by Mubarak supporters and followed throughout the day while an ABC News producer said he was threatened with beheading. An NPR crew was also attacked.snip

But remember, Obama and Biden and Clinton tell us that these Egyptians are freedom loving people, merely seeking Twitter and Facebook access.

There will be no further comment from CBS News and Correspondent Logan and her family respectfully request privacy at this time.

These "news" organizations are always anxious to close the door on events like this when it involves their own.

However, anyone else is fair game to be hounded with microphones, cameras and penetrating questions for days on end.

It seems that only some people's privacy deserves to be respected.

That has always bothered me.

I didn't think of this, but the Twitterer is right.

Just so we're clear... the "largely secular" Muslim Brotherhood would require that Lara Logan be stoned to death for what happened to her.

Just a small point:

She is not a muslim, so she would not need to be stoned to death.

As a "dhimmi" in a muslim land, and an infidel woman.....she may be brutalized & raped without any penalty or moral indignation, under sharia law.
