On Monday's Piers Morgan Tonight on CNN, disgraced former CBS anchor Dan Rather attributed the current protests in Egypt to President Obama's June 2009 speech to the Muslim world in Cairo: "He [Obama] fueled this uprising in Egypt. When he came to Cairo, let us remember, and he spoke of- listen, we stand for freedom and democracy and listening to people. The Egyptians believed his rhetoric" ...

Good comments

It isn't the Cairo speech that inspired the demonstrators. It was the State of the Union address.

Egyptians gathered around TVs and radios to listen to his magic words, which contained an encrypted message of support to them.

The SOTU got them going!

So since Obama caused this, when Egypt becomes a muslim hellhole Obama will take the blame? And doesn't Egypt, where the slave industry started, make blood money by using the ancient works of slaves as tourist traps?

shoutPepper! Excellent comments indeed.

The fact that Obama "molly-coddled" the Muslim Brotherhood in late 2008/2009, and allowed them to undermine an ally of the USA [as revealed by WikiLeaks;]says volumes about his ineptness [being kind] or his evil intent to reduce America to a second class nation by any means. Pantsuit get no reprieve here either. The Muslim Brotherhood proved capable of creating chaos over 30 years ago, with the assassination of Anwar Sadat.

Of course, Obozo was still smokin' reefer, playin' B-ball & getting diddled by Frank Davis....so he might not remember his teen years.

SrWoodChuck!

What is the difference?

In 2011 Obama supported a Muslim Brotherhood inspired popular demonstration against a stable authoritarian state that we have sent $ to for 30 years and a demonstration that did not turn on the protesters.

But in 2009, Obama stood by as a populist Green Revolution in Iran, an authoritarian state run by a nut job who promises to wipe Israel off the map. The protesters went nowhere and and they were brutally suppressed by the government.

What is the difference?

Answer: The latter leaves an absolute authoritarian state in power in Iran, and the former greases the way that an Islamic absolute authoritarian state will take place in Egyopt.
