Rheo
Chicago Breaking News:The Illinois House's assistant majority leader had a handgun pointed at him in the Lower West Side's Heart of Chicago neighborhood over the weekend.State Representative Edward Acevedo (D-Chicago) wasn't injured in the incident, which occurred around 10:18 p.m. Friday in the 2500 block of South Oakley Boulevard.Police said someone inside a van pointed a pistol at Acevedo, but the vehicle sped away when the representative announced his office.A police spokesman wasn't aware whether Acevedo -- a state representative since 1997 and a Chicago police officer since 1995 -- identified himself as an elected official or as a police officer.----What an odd piece of writing. What does announced his office mean? Why would he have identified himself to this gunman, as an official or policeman? Was there a confrontation?
Casino67
Whatever the conversation may have been, the gunman must have decided he wasn't worth wasting a bullet over.
