The Hill:

Sen. John Kerry (D-Mass.) warned incoming Republicans Tuesday morning against cutting back the size of government so much that it cannot contribute to U.S. productivity.

"Do they want a government too limited to have invented the Internet, now a vital part of our commerce and communications?" he asked at one point.

Kerry also argued that the government's bailout of U.S. auto companies was warranted, and said government-funded research programs should be spared.
"[Do they want a] government too small to give America’s auto industry and all its workers a second chance to fight for their survival? Taxes too low to invest in the research that creates jobs and industries and fills the Treasury with the revenue that educates our children, cures disease, and defends our country?" he said in remarks to the Center for American Progress.

"We have to get past slogans and soundbites, reason together and talk in real terms about how America can do its best," he added.snip

Geee!

What a wackjob.

Leonard Kleinrock devised the concept packet networks in the late 50s

Kleinrock wrote a PhD dissertation on it.

Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) of the United States Department of Defense called for specs via Advanced Research Projects Agency (ARPA) and they contacted Kleinrock

Specs for ARPANET were prepared in 1969, Bolt, Beranek and Newman (BBN) from Cambridge got the contract to design implement and deploy the ARPANET.

Fast forward to Tim Berners-Lee (the inventor of the WWW) who developed the concept of hypertext.

Berners-Lee worked for European Organization for Nuclear Research (French: Organisation Européenne pour la Recherche Nucléaire), known as CERN

The first web site built was at CERN, and was first put on line on 6 August 1991.

Good grief.

Edited to add: This type of statement is so rife with ridiculousness and errors...I can't find anything to say and simply end up sputtering in frustration.

I find this is often true with the left. The "solutions" and assumptions are so simplistic and based on such narrow thinking you have to go deep to refute the arguments. Which makes it hard to debate, especially if the person has no tolerance for in depth discussions and is prone to tangents.

Every time I see the outrageous statements from this nutjob and Al nutjob I give God sincere thanks for not making them our leader.
