A PUBLISHER is planning to release a new edition of two of Mark Twain's classic novels that replaces the racial slurs used throughout the books with less offensive language.

NewSouth Books will release a single volume containing both novels, Adventures of Huckleberry Finn and The Adventures of Tom Sawyer, overseen by Twain scholar Alan Gribben, Publisher's Weekly said. In both, the n-word is replaced with the word "slave" and the word "Injun" is removed.

Political correctness is a cancer on our society. Good manners & neighborly action will be replaced by a mandate & the price is our freedom.

When all are forced to bow to the flavor of the day....we will be conditioned for rule by our masters.

Political correctness is the biggest lie we are facing in this society today. It masks reality, punishes truth-tellers and allows the cancer of dishonesty to grow.

This is just one more symptom of the sickness.

Why not just explain to the students that this was the way people spoke and thought and that Twain as a writer was using authentic speech, and not to judge it by today's standards but in the context of when it was written?

Yeesh.

"Political correctness is a doctrine, fostered by a delusional, illogical minority, and rabidly promoted by an unscrupulous mainstream media, which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a turd by the clean end."

Let's see, what was a 143 page book will become 4 pages with pictures. That should suit current high academic standards and PC policy just fine.

But that's OK. See, Geee, it's a history that needed correction, to dispel the myth of good Western civilization and instead expose it for the harsh and brutal culture that it was then and is today.

This is erasing part of history.
