Geee
AOLNews:A Christian woman who survived an attack on a Baghdad church in October was shot dead in her bed early today by gunmen who made off with money and some of her possessions.Rafah Butros Toma was most likely killed because of her religion, Agence France-Presse reported. The gunmen used weapons equipped with silencers to shoot her as she slept. She was the latest victim in a string of attacks on Christians in Iraq. In Egypt, Coptic Christians were victims of a New Year's Day bombing at their church in Cairo.Toma, who lived alone in central Baghdad, was one of 120 people at the Our Lady of Salvation church who were taken hostage by suicide-vest-wearing terrorists on Oct. 31.Iraqi security forces confronted the militants, three of whom detonated their vests. After the raid, 53 people, including two priests and Toma's 27-year-old cousin, were left dead. The church is one of the largest Catholic houses of worship in the country. SrWoodchuck
In my opening statements when starting my prison ministry services, I always ask for prayers for the latest Christian martyrs. Each week, unfortunately; there has been a new atrocity. The detainees are surprisingly supportive of the extra prayers; as they see a situation worse than their own & worry about their own families outside of jail. In the United States we see young muslims under the same threat [& some being killed by their own families] for conversion to Christianity, westernization & "Islamic values honor." NCJim
Jefferson said there will be millions for defense, but not one cent for tribute paid to these pirates and others involved. Jefferson said he would not give in to that kind of treachery and terrorism; he would fight for peace. Therefore, he sent Marines to the shores of Tripoli, where the Barbary Pirates, that is, Mohammedan brigands (read, Muslim terrorists) of 200 years ago had their headquarters. Our Marines, after many long years of fighting, were completely victorious; they achieved a hard won peace. There is only one way to achieve peace: through victory, the way Jefferson stood up to them. Negotiations, paying tribute, giving in and ignoring the problem have and will never achieve victory and sustain peace.
