The U.N. Security Council has scheduled an emergency meeting for Sunday on North Korea at Russia's request.

Mark Kornblau, spokesman for the U.S. Mission to the United Nations, said Saturday the council will hold closed-door consultations at 11 a.m. EST (1600 GMT). The United States holds the council's rotating presidency this month.
