Republicans Save President's Goose By Saving Bush Tax Cuts

Human Events:

Congressional Republicans saved the presidency of Bill Clinton 15 years ago, and now may do the same thing for Barrack Obama. A major move in this direction was the overwhelming Senate vote yesterday passing last week's tax-cut compromise between Obama and congressional Republicans.

The Republicans in Congress have forced the post-2010-election president to endorse extending George W. Bush's Reagan-style tax cuts. A bonus: Obama officials have adopted the Republican line that keeping the current rates for all, including the wealthy, will be good for the economy. Obama is now talking about pay freezes, tax reform and budget cuts, as he embarks on a two-year campaign to scramble back to the political center and get reelected.

"It’s an excellent agreement on behalf of millions of Americans who won’t see their taxes go up," White House spokesman Robert Gibbs said Monday.snip

It just crashed in the House. Apparently there will be no vote as to the rules for the debate, ergo, no debate and no vote on the bill. Who knows where they go from here. Maybe will have to wait until new House convenes in January.

I just caught that on FNC(if Megyn Kelly's on, I'm watching! B) ). The RATS, led by Pelosi, just shot themselves in the foot.

Ace, should we call FLOTUS' ass 'big'? She is the first lady and her big fat ass should be off limits. She can't help having a big fat ass and we shouldn't denigrate her for having a big fat ass. So let's not talk about her big fat ass as being too big and fat to not be able to get through the door. Big fat asses probably appeal to skinny guys who don't have big fat asses like the first lady. Maybe even the skinny guy in the WH admires her big fat ass.

LOL...look at the bright side.

Another shovel ready job to add to the list.

As a matter of fact, with that big fat arse, it's gonna take a bulldozer to clear a path.

Rep. Earl Pomeroy, D-N.D., said there was opposition earlier today from some members about voting for the underlying Senate bill. "There may be some detractors of that rule that want other things considered," Pomeroy said, adding that there is a strong effort to get things done quickly.

"People want to go home to see their Christmas trees," he said.

Poor congress critters don't want to work during Christmas break. I wonder how many people feel for them.

Had they not taken so many days off and three-day work weeks, perhaps they could have gotten their work done before now.

Charles Krauthammer on FB:

Remember the question after Election Day: Can Barack Obama move to the center to win back the independents who had abandoned the party in November? Is he capable of it and how long will it take? Answer: Five weeks. An indoor record, although an asterisk should denote that he had the wind at his back -– namely, Republicans clearing his path and sprinkling it with roses. More in Friday's column.
