Washington Examiner:

You're an 81-year-old congressman. Your wife's headed to jail. At this point, you probably just don't care what the world thinks of you, so why not kick back on your flight on the way home and read a pronographic magazine in full view of all the other passengers? Welcome to the life of Rep. John Conyers, D-Mich. If he wants those kind of thrills, he should just forego his congressional privileges and get screened by the TSA. snip

Ha! I just saw this story on Drudge. A commenter at the source said "Well at least know we know how to get those guys to read the bills."

I find it disgusting that these guys do not have any sense of public decorum.

He is another prime example of why terms limits are really needed. We do not need lifetime congress critters. It would probably save us a ton of money if they couldn't be there long enough to build up their power bases and grab all that money

LOL, I saw a picture of this and there was some woman that was sitting next to him, looking disgusted. Conyers is ethically-challenged to say the least, this is the same dude who had his driver's license suspended because he tried to pay a ticket with a check that bounced. A blight on the newly great again state of Michigan.

Playboy is extremely left wing......all though left & right wings are usually both exposed. He could have been reading the articles......they're full of liberal articles.

I had a subscription to Playboy......originally given as a gift by MrsSrWoodchuck......but like GQ, Maxim & Vogue, all are so slanted that not even the pictures is enough to want to "read" them. We won't have them in the house anymore.....good riddance, too.

I only miss my National Review subscription, but since William F.Buckley passed, his son tarnished his father's legacy by endorsing Obama.....and Rich Lowry became editor [not really a bad guy, but a very pale candle to WFB] I've lost the zeal for it, too. [except Mark Steyn-which I can read online]

Conyers shows his age by selecting print "porn*," too!

* Really not porn....compared to e-porn.

Last time I bought a copy of Playboy was 9 years ago when Gena Lee Nolin did a pictorial(I couldn't pass that one up B) ). I went to a store that I never go to, run by some Arabs who barely understand English, and I was blushing when I asked for a copy and still blushing when I left the store.

Now, I keep the copy because it might be a collector's item someday, but don't look at it. I'm older and just don't get that urge as much as I did when I was younger. IMO, if an 80 year-old like, I don't know, John Conyers(!) is openly looking at nudie pics on an airliner, he's just a dirty old man who should lay off the little blue pills....

I've never understood it...porn that is.

Short story if I may.....

Back in my hippie days my tag team partner wanted to go to a porn flick, NO I'm not paying good money to watch people (insert appropriate word here), not when I can spend it on dope! (says I)He talked a friend of his to pay our way. A double feature Tails of a bus bench and Love for hire (two classics of the cinematic arts..rivals Martin Scorsese or John Frankenheimer at their best!), after about ten minutes Bill says "This is really boring". I said...I tried to tell ya, let's go get stoned, I know a guy with some mushrooms....so we did.

That is funny.

I won't begrudge anyone their porn fix. I see it as an outlet and release for a lot of people.......but a waste of time, too.

MrsSrWoodchuck & I go to Easter Brunch, at our dear friend's house every year; for the last 15 years. It's a big deal, with 20-30 people, family & friends, all sitting down to a great brunch [i bring the chicken "bunny" pasta @ year.] One year everybody was telling what they gave up for Lent, so jokingly I said, "Yeah, I gave up beer & internet porn." Went over real big at the time, but not back at home.

I'm a libertarian/conservative that says, "...it ain't nobody's bidness, but his own..." but he could have been more tactful and discreet. Then again, as the article suggests.......his wife's going away [yeah!] and he's old enough to not care what people think......maybe it's time for him to be down-the-road.

My point is I don't understand the fascination with it.

OTOH....
