Mediaite:

Last night on his show Mike Huckabee called on (a seemingly unprepared) Ann Coulter to explain last month’s claim that “all liberals are atheists. Only the ones who have to stand for election even bother pretending to believe in God…There’s only one true Christian liberal in the country and that’s Mike Huckabee.” Indeed.

Coulter, who protested “this was not our topic, Governor!” defended the quote by saying it was not an insult to Huckabee, but an insult to all of Obama’s so-called Christian advisers (“they are such fake, phony frauds”) whom Coulter thinks do not spend enough time protesting abortion in the President’s presence.

“So I started thinking, what if you were a genuine Christian but you had some crazy liberal views on things that are not directly Christian, what would that look like? And I thought of you Governor.”

I don't watch the Huck, but will watch Coulter anytime.

"Huck" is too nice and easy going to be in a knife fight with that blonde assassin.

She's not only dodged ambushes, she has dodged actual pies thrown by dogged libtards during her college lecture tour. I pity the poor man or woman that initiates a semantic battle with Ann.

Did you read the article in the NYT's about her? Actually was a good article.

Ann Coulter to explain last month’s claim that “all liberals are atheists.

Yet one more in a long line of silly statements by Ann.

She must have a new book about to come out.

Disagree. Huckabee will smile while sticking the stick the knife in. He is (IMO) a real two faced piece of work.

shout Valin. I think the Huck did it to get HIS ratings up. I agree he is a piece of work and am totally confused as to why people think he is a valid candidate for office.

shoutValin, I agree with you.

shoutCasino67, clearly ratings factored in, but I think that he wanted to put her in a bad situation.

Always bet on stupidity. For a certain number of Republican voters, that he's an Evangelical is all that matters.

I just watched this on HotAirBlog.com, on a Media-ite vid that I can't embed. Some observations:

Coulter's "....all liberals are atheists......" Ann felt that the liberal Christian advisers to Obama, believe first in politically expedient policy, and then Christianity. [As in "community salvation"] You can't claim to worship God, when your actions indicate you worship Mammon. When you act for power over others, using enforced charity [whick Huck alluded to] you worship neither......proving her point. She rarely let him ask a question, by citing examples for her statement, which was made in reference to his running as a candidate for President. Her basis was his support for the care and education of anchor babies, which he believes should be different than the immigration policy for their illegal parents.

Yes, he ambushed her for his ratings; playing to the crowd. No, he did not succeed. IMO - she cut him to pieces.

Ann Coulter makes outrageous statements, and they're witty too; which may seem silly. She seldom cannot back up those statements with facts.

She may have a new book to come out. She spins them out regularly & they sell. It's said that with her exodus from WorldNutDaily, and her shining appearance at HomoCon, the big gay conservative soiree that was held [last month?] she is re-inventing herself.

I don't think his evangelical cachet is going to do him much good for 2012. It's a different feeling this next election. It's desperate times for our country. He should play out his popular appeal, and when his "15 minutes of fame" start to wane.....[which will be sooner, rather than later].........he can do game shows.

One of the statements that she made riled the left so much was about the 'Jersey Girls' enjoying their husbands death. But I recall her saying something to the affect that 'it got rid of them'. They disappeared from sight. Outrageous yes, but effective.

I wonder if they have all remarried? They became 'authorities' only because of their widowhood, and subsequent wealth. And as Ann has pointed out, they were not allowed to be criticized only because of their being widows. Can't remember exactly how she phrased it.

Does this fit in?

“I would remind you that extremism in the defense of liberty is no vice! And let me remind you also that moderation in the pursuit of justice is no virtue.” by you know who. Ann could not have said it better.

There's no question that Ann can throw grenades at the left like nobody but Rush or Mark Levin. Sometimes she goes a little over the top, but she's always funny, and she(like Rush) drives the libtards crazy.

Personally, I prefer Laura Ingraham(she's better looking, IMO), who tends to be a bit more restrained, but just as scathing when it comes to ripping the RATS. B)

Either way, Huckabee sandbagging her reminded me of Rosie O'Donut's "interview" with Tom Selleck after the Columbine Massacre in the late '90s. He was supposed to be interviewed about a movie or TV project he was working on, and was instead screamed and yelled at by the Hippocrite about his pro-2nd Amendment views. But seeing that Huck is a snake oil salesman, I'm hardly surprised.
