Geee
Washington Examiner:The abortion money starts coming inBy: TIMOTHY P. CARNEYSenior Examiner Columnist09/20/10 8:10 PM EDTThe Center for Responsive Politics reports on a post-Citizens United “Super PAC” making independent expenditures in this year’s congressional races. The newly formed “super PAC” of abortion rights advocacy group EMILY’s List drew most of the $430,000 it raised in August from just five sources, a Center for Responsive Politics review of campaign finance reports filed Thursday shows.Last month, the PAC, known as Women Vote!, raised $250,000 from the Service Employees International Unionand another $95,000 from four wealthy women philanthropists and investors who have been prolific political donors over the years, according to a Center for Responsive Politics analysis. Such contributions illustrate how relatively few people may now, in the aftermath of major federal court decisions, significantly affect the financial fortunes of certain political groups. Many people don’t realize this, but — compared to other single-issue groups — pro-choice money is consistently one of the biggest, while pro-life money is nearly non-existent. Stella
Sometimes it seems that every single thing in politics revolves around abortion. Every election you have single issue voters whose entire vote is about abortion either pro or con.
AceRimmer
The RATS hit the panic button and the usual suspects show up: Emily's List, NARAL, and Planned Parenthood with a bankwad to prop up the pro-choicers in trouble like Boxer and Murray. Too bad, so sad, they couldn't save Arlen Specter's arse.
