Geee
Politico:Former President Bill Clinton says President Barack Obama is “getting his groove back” but acknowledges there’s a “huge lag time” for the country that is feeling the effects of large parts of his agenda.Speaking Sunday on CBS’s “Face the Nation” from Chappaqua, N.Y., Clinton chalked up much of the ire directed at the White House to the high unemployment rate. He also said Obama was disoriented by the lack of Republican support he got when he first took the White House but that he’s now “combating the opposition.”In recent weeks, Obama has given speeches underscoring Republican attempts to undermine his agenda by obstructing key bills he says would help jump-start the economy, including ending tax cuts for the nation’s wealthiest earners. He has also begun to focus on House Minority Leader John Boehner (R-Ohio) as the key figure in opposition to his agenda.“If I said the sky was blue, they’d say, ‘No,’” Obama joked in a recent speech. “If I said, ‘Fish live in the sea,’ they’d say, ‘No.’”At the same time, Clinton said, Democrats as a party should concentrate on fixing the stalled economy and sell that message to voters.
