ErnstBlofeld
GeoStrategy Direct: Turkey was said to have removed neighboring Iran as a security threat. Officials said the National Security Council has determined that Iran was no longer a threat to Turkey. They said the council has removed Iran from its list of threats in a forthcoming security review, scheduled for publication in October 2010. "Iran is not the same country it used to be and has become a major trading partner with Turkey," an official said. The National Security Council, headed by Prime Minister Recep Erdogan, publishes its security review every five years.
