Washington Post:

By Michael Gerson
Friday, August 20, 2010

The most destructive gap for President Obama is not the Republican lead on the generic congressional ballot or even a job disapproval that has surpassed approval -- it is the gap between aspiration and reality.

The Manhattan mosque controversy showed the problem in compressed form. First came the Obama of high-toned principle (largely the right principle, in my view). Then a politically motivated recalibration. Then a scrambling staff explanation. Then an embarrassed silence, since it is difficult to clarify the clarification of a clarification. Then the president's regretful assertion of "no regrets."

It was more than a lapse. From the firing of Shirley Sherrod to the obsession with Fox News to lashing the "professional left," the Obama administration engages in a daily hypocrisy. It attacks the sound and fury of the cable news cycle while being entirely captive to its rhythms. In the process, it often appears reactive, windblown and unprincipled.

I strongly recommend everybody read this editorial, because it rips the Chosen One to shreds, in the Washington Post!

All politicians fall -- but not from such a height.

All politicians fall -- but not from such an imagined height.

The only people that believed that he was actually at that height... were dyed-in-the-wool Liberals, the entire AA community, the uniformed, and hopelessly gullible.

I say... "Well DUH!"

I don't know why anyone would be the least bit surprised at what a dud he is, that should have been obvious before so many idiots voted for him

BINGO We have a winner! I recall during both the primary and general elections, asking people why they thought Barack Obama would be a good President? What had he ever actually done that would lead you to believe he should be President? (sad to say) All I got was A. a blank stare or B. a rant against George Bush.

What we had in 08 was style over substance.

It's no surprise for us, we knew he was the second coming of Jimmy Carter before he was even elected. But with the LSM completely in the tank, they managed to con enough indy's into voting for him that he won.

I predicted back in '08 that it didn't matter whether Obambi or McCain won, they were going to be a one-term President. Two years later, it looks like my preditction is coming true...

Great article. The comments from the stuck pigs that follow the article are pretty good, too.

I don't agree with the premise of the concluding line.

All politicians fall -- but not from such a height.

Not every politician falls - and as shoutNCTexan wrote above, the fall is from an imaginary height. Artificially created by a complicit set of presstitutes and liberal supporters.

Out of work

Out of luck

Cold and hungry

Without a buck

But now is The Age Of Obama

Savings gone

Dreams are dust

Hope is fading

And banks are bust

But now is The Age Of Obama

Now is it possible things will turn around

Now is it possible what was lost can be found

Prices rise

Bridges fall

Feeling stranded

And thinking small

Hold on

And together we'll try

And together we'll fly

And together we'll cry

'Cause it's all do or die

In The Age Of Obama

Make way

For The Age Of Obama

Turn the page

Make a plan

C'mon, set the stage for

"Yes we can"

Today is The Age Of Obama

A time for creating a vision that will last

A time of forgiving and letting go of the past

Here we go

Coming through

Build a future

Where dreams come true

Believe

If we try one more time

Though the climb may be steep

We'll awake from this sleep

And such riches we'll reap

In The Age Of Obama

I can't tell if this is a spoof or not. Given the obvious facts of our situation, it should be, but then, I just don't know.

For what it's worth....I think it's real. We must cast our memory back to those "Golden Days of Yore". Back when so many people still bought the hype.
