WestVirginiaRebel
Yahoo News:PORT FOURCHON, La. Attorney General Eric Holder said Tuesday that federal authorities have opened criminal and civil investigations into the nation's worst oil spill, and BP lost billions in market value when shares dropped in the first trading day since the company failed yet again to plug the gusher.Investors presumably realized the best chance to stop the leak was months away and there was no end in sight to the cleanup. As BP settled in for the long-term, Holder announced the criminal probe, though he would not specify the companies or individuals that might be targeted."We will closely examine the actions of those involved in the spill. If we find evidence of illegal behavior, we will be extremely forceful in our response," Holder said in New Orleans. With the ambitious "top kill" abandoned over the weekend, BP's hope to stanch the leak lies with two relief wells that won't be finished until at least August. The company is, however, trying another risky temporary fix to contain the oil and siphon it to the surface by sawing through the leaking pipe and putting a cap over the spill.________So much for "The buck stops with me". Pepper
(Holder has apparently done such a good job at enforcing our borders and keeping terrorists and illegals out he can now concentrate on doing photo ops and posturing with dead birds and turtles.)sarcasm
Argyle58
I'm curious as to what criminal behavior is suspected. OSHA had given them a clean bill of health, so did the Dept. of the Interior and Dept of Energy. Unless sabotage is on their minds, this is just posturing. I guess I shouldn't be surprised by that. Pepper
APNewsBreak: Feds approve new Gulf oil well off La Argyle58! The criminality could rest with the people taking the bribes in MMS and other parts of Obama's administration. I'm sure they'll get right on that. Al_Simmons
The Obama Administration should be prosecuted for not yet calling upon the SINGLE organization that could have caped this well forever by a simple application of buried explosives - THE UNITED STATES NAVY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! For over a month I have watched incredulously as not one, not ONE talking head on TV on online asked the question: WHERE IS THE US NAVY??? They have the equipment to get this job done, but do you think that has occurred to anyone in the BHO Administration? In 1969, the Soviets used a buried NUKE to kill off a raging natural gas blowout.
