Geee
Washington Examiner Lt. Gov. Winsome Earle-Sears (R-VA) has an even bigger future in state politics. The first statewide-elected black woman when she won her election to the commonwealth’s No. 2 post beside Gov. Glenn Youngkin (R-VA) in 2021, she leads the Republican attorney general in a hypothetical 2025 gubernatorial matchup. “Yeah, of course” it’s good news for Earle-Sears, Cygnal pollster Mitchell Brown said. And, he added, it’s not bad news for Attorney General Jason Miyares (R-VA) because he could win reelection to his post. (Poll graphic courtesy of Cygnal) In the Cygnal survey, Earle-Sears leads Miyares, 43.5% to 15.8%. Brown’s analysis read: “Sears holds an impressive 28-point advantage over Miyares on the governor’s ballot. Among voters who definitely support either candidate, Sears leads by +23 getting 30% to Miyares’s 7%.” Earle-Sears is also better known than Miyares despite his newsy and regular criticism of the Biden administration on hot-button topics for Republicans.
