Attorney General Letitia James could freeze the Republican front-runner’s bank accounts, thus interfering in the presidential election, and rattling financial markets

Former president Donald Trump committed fraud for years by lying about his wealth on financial statements to get favorable loans, say Democrats and New York Attorney General Letitia James. Judge Arthur Engoron ruled last month that Trump must pay over $354 million in damages, which has since increased to $464 million due to interest. Trump now has until Monday to post a bond. If he fails to do so, James can begin seizing his assets, including his bank accounts and properties.

“There’s not only potential asset seizures that could take place,” reported New York Times investigative journalist Susanne Craig on MSNBC yesterday. “He’s got some cash. His bank accounts could be frozen… If someone’s going to start a seizure process, they’re going to grab the most liquid thing, which is the cash.”

The bad news is that entitlement and narcissism are rising in the culture. As such, to the extent to which they are behind the Democrats’ weaponization of the justice system, then we can expect to see more of it in the coming months and years. Democrat Judges and Attorneys General aren’t engaging in counterproductive behaviors because they know they are counterproductive. They are doing so because they think they are the right thing to do to combat someone they view as a menace to all they hold dear.

In his book Political Ponerology, the late Polish psychologist Andrew M. Lobaczewski argues that totalitarianism is the result of narcissists and psychopaths taking over major societal institutions, from the universities to the justice system. That is what appears to be happening now.

If an Attorney General and a Judge can seize $464 million in assets from the presidential front-runner for an alleged crime that has no victim, then it would be more accurate to say that we have only a single political system—and no true justice system at all. Worse, that system is rapidly becoming psychopathological.

Democrats are abusing their powers and weaponizing the government because they are largely blind to how their behaviors are perceived by others. Argues Vinney, “The individual may be unaware their behavior is regressive, even though to the outside observer the immaturity of their actions may be quite obvious.”

Thus, psychologists, including Vinney, argue that the way to challenge infantile regression, narcissism, and authoritarianism is to point it out. One must tell the “adult that their behavior is uncharacteristically childish or age-inappropriate,” explains Vinney. Doing so, she says, “will enable them to recognize what they're doing and determine how to respond to whatever is causing them distress in a more productive way.”
