Google’s fiasco with its artificial intelligence program is emblematic of an issue simmering at the tech giant. It’s not a new story. It dates to—you guessed it—the 2016 election. The rollout of Gemini has been something of a trainwreck. Its image creator refused to generate any images of white people, whereas the AI prompt couldn’t say with certainty that Adolf Hitler was a worse individual than Elon Musk.
