FBI And Secret Service Are Covering Up Their Role In Alleged January 6 “Pipe Bomb” Plot, New Evidence Suggests- Michael Shellenberger

It should have been a national scandal. On January 6, 2021, the day of the Capitol riot, a bomb nearly exploded at the Democratic National Committee (DNC) headquarters in Washington, D.C., according to the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). Had it gone off, it could have killed Vice President Kamala Harris, who drove by the alleged bomb, and was in the DNC headquarters when the bomb was discovered.

“Although these bombs did not detonate,” said the FBI earlier this year, “it is important to remember the suspect walked along residential and commercial areas in Capitol Hill just blocks from the U.S. Capitol with viable pipe bombs that could have seriously injured or killed innocent bystanders.” Among those innocent bystanders was the Vice President.

But the incident never became a national scandal. In an interview with the Los Angeles Times on January 17, 2021, Harris never mentioned the potential assassination attempt. In fact, Harris’s near-death experience was unknown until the Department of Justice revealed it in a court filing in November 2021. The government had previously incorrectly stated that Harris was in the US Capitol. And the US House of Representatives’ official January 6 Committee investigation’s 841-page report only briefly mentions the pipe bombs in an appendix. The pipe bombs, which were initially key to the narrative that the Capitol riot was a premeditated act of domestic terrorism, are omitted from the report’s detailed analysis and timeline.

A video released by Rep. Thomas Massie and first reported on by Revolver News and The Blaze shows that a passerby with a backpack alerted Capitol Police officers sitting in their cars outside the DNC that there was a pipe bomb nearby. Congressional staffers told Blaze reporter Steve Baker that a Capitol Police plainclothes officer found the DNC pipe bomb. In the video, Capitol Police do not react with alarm, and they let people, including children, pass just a few feet from the pipe bomb as though it is not dangerous. The evidence suggests that the Capitol Police officers knew the bomb was not a threat.

The FBI appears to have taken the explosive devices seriously. The FBI offered a $500,000 reward for help in finding the person who left the bomb. The FBI’s Washington Field Office Director, Steven D’Antuono, recorded a video urging the public to report suspicious individuals to the FBI. The FBI says that its lab determined that the devices, both pipe bombs with 60-minute kitchen timers, were “viable.”

But a National Explosives Task Force (NETF) Quick Look Report, leaked to CBS News, suggested that the bombs could not have been detonated remotely from a secondary device like a cell phone. “All of it suggests that if they had been set, they were designed to go off on January 5th,” reported CBS News investigative correspondent Catherin Herridge. This leaked report calls into question the accepted pipe bomb timeline, :snip:

Tucker Carlson Claims Government Planted Pipe Bombs at Capitol on January 6

If you were anywhere near the U.S. Capitol on January 6, 2021, the federal government has been able to figure that out. In fact, the Biden administration recently announced it wasn’t just going to limit its aggressive prosecution and denial of due process rights to those who entered the Capitol Building peacefully, but even those who stayed outside.

hey know who they are, and anyone who supports Trump will be treated like a criminal, and so far more than 1,200 people have been arrested for one dubious charge or another, many of whom were tracked down from across the country.

Yet, with all the technology they have to identify any random person who was anywhere near the Capitol that day, one big mystery remains: who planted pipe bombs at RNC and DNC headquarters the day before?

They have surveillance footage of a suspect. And yet, three years later, the FBI has managed to track down every nonviolent observer and elderly grandmother who was in town that day, but not this suspect. The FBI’s handling of this particular aspect of their J6 investigation has been suspicious, to say the least, and the agency has failed to comply with requests from Congress for more information about it.

So, what gives? Well, according to Tucker Carlson, "It seems likely that government officials were involved in planting pipe bombs in Washington, D.C. three years ago, as part of an effort to keep Donald Trump from running for president again.":snip:

The Big Lie of the January 6 "insurrection" is falling apart before our eyes.

With over three years having passed since January 6, 2021, it may come as a shock to some that this vexed date is more relevant than ever. The regime has broadly employed the absurd notion of January 6 as a violent assault on the scale of 9/11 as a pretext to weaponize the national security state against its political opponents. The still more absurd notion that Trump personally instigated this insurrection has emerged as the sham legal rationale behind the regime’s recent efforts to remove the presumptive GOP nominee from the ballot entirely. A bungling, senescent Biden clearly signaled in his speech marking the third anniversary of the “day we almost lost America” that January 6 would feature prominently in the Democrat’s 2024 strategy.

The stakes involved help us to understand why the regime so jealously guards its official January 6 narrative, and so aggressively attacks anyone who dares to question it. These troublesome questions involve asking why, of all days, the Capitol seemed to enjoy uniquely poor security, despite numerous warnings and threats. One might also ask how, given the well-established level of penetration federal authorities had into the key militia groups accused of conspiracies to attack the Capitol, the same authorities could possibly claim to have been caught off guard. Most troubling and damning of all, one might ask whether any government agents or affiliates took more active steps in helping to facilitate the events of January 6. This last line of questioning has been the principal focus of my reporting at Revolver.news, and has led me to maintain that the two smoking guns of the “Fedsurrection” is the curious case of Ray Epps, on the one hand, and the case of the so-called January 6 pipe bombs on the other.

The January 6 pipe bombs refer to the two alleged explosive devices planted on the evening of January 5 and discovered on January 6 near the DNC and RNC buildings, respectively, just as the assault on the west perimeter of the Capitol began to unfold in the early afternoon. These pipe bombs, technically considered weapons of mass destruction by the government, were arguably the most serious, terrorist-like element associated with the day the media and regime has been desperate to paint as a domestic terror attack on par with 9/11. The FBI put out urgent videos pleading with the public to provide help in helping to identify and apprehend this presumptive MAGA terrorist.

From the very outset it was clear that something was off with the FBI’s treatment of this case. A more careful look at the pipe bomb story reveals that the official version of events relies on an almost impossible set of coincidences compounded on one another. The best entry point into the pipe bomb story is a 7-minute clip reluctantly and quietly released by the Capitol Police of the DNC bomb being discovered. When considered as a stand-alone piece of footage, it is sufficient to warrant a national scandal; when considered in light of the broader aforementioned coincidences surrounding the pipe bomb story, it threatens to completely demolish the regime’s January 6 narrative and expose one of the darkest and most damning government operations in recent American history.

Without further ado, we ask that the reader skim the linked video and then revisit it as you read our description below.

FBI blocked surveillance team from interviewing person of interest in J6 pipe bomb case: former FBI agent

After over three years, the person wanted for placing the pipe bombs in these locations has yet to be found.

A former FBI agent has revealed that the bureau tied the suspect wanted in connection to pipe bombs planted at both the Republican and Democrat National Committee buildings in DC before January 6, 2021, to a DC Metro fare card and a license plate, but his team was prevented from interviewing the person of interest.

After over three years, the person wanted for placing the pipe bombs in these locations has yet to be found.

Former leader of FBI surveillance teams Kyle Seraphin told the Daily Wire that shortly after January 6, a counterintelligence team met Seraphin at a Falls Church, Virginia firehouse to brief him on his next surveillance target.

The counterintelligence team had used security footage to follow the person of interest to a Metro station after the bombs were planted, and the card used to access the transit was identified. The card allowed them to determine he got off at a stop in Northern Virginia, where the person was seen entering a car. The card and the car were registered in the name of a retired Air Force chief master sergeant that was now working as a contractor with security clearance.

Seraphin said he and his team were assigned to stake out the person of interest’s row house for several days, but the FBI blocked a request to interview the person. He said they were then called off the person if interest completely, and instead told to look through leads on minor January 6 participants.

Was The Story About A Pipe Bomb At DNC HQ On Jan. 6 An FBI Crock Of Bull?

Newly uncovered video shows that a bomb-sniffing dog was at the Democratic National Committee (DNC) on the morning of January 6, 2021, without detecting a supposed pipe bomb that was sitting only a few feet away.

The security footage adds to the major questions about the supposed pipe bombs that were planted on the eve of January 6 at the DNC and near the Republican National Committee (RNC). The FBI says the bombs were planted around 8 p.m. on January 5, but remained undetected until the next afternoon, when they were both discovered within minutes of the Capitol being breached by trespassers.:snip:

Blaze Media has released exclusive footage that makes the Capitol Police’s actions after the discovery of a pipe bomb outside the DNC on Jan. 6, 2021, even more suspicious. Investigative journalist and Blaze Media correspondent Steve Baker joins Glenn to review the footage, which reveals that the Capitol Police moved CCTV security cameras AWAY from the crime scene as it was unfolding. Baker also reviews other oddities he has discovered related to bomb-sniffing dogs and the water cannon used to destroy the bomb that make him wonder if this whole thing was a diversionary tactic meant to remove Capitol Police officers from the Capitol before the riot. “It just screams, ‘setup,’” Glenn says. So, how much more info will come out before the DoJ arrests Baker, as it has promised to?

FBI Claim That Alleged January 6 Pipe Bomb Was Left At Republican Headquarters Is False, New Evidence Suggests
Person who allegedly discovered the device worked for FBI contractor
Michael Shellenberger and Alex Gutentag
Feb 19, 2024

According to the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), last year, somebody planted a bomb at the Republican National Committee (RNC) headquarters on January 5 to go off on January 6, the day of the Capitol riot.

But the person who was the FBI’s Director of the Washington Field Office on January 6, 2021 told members of Congress last year that he agreed the bomb couldn’t have gone off on January 6 because it had a 60-minute timer on it.

There are many other suspicious elements of the case. The FBI claims that cell phone data that would have helped it to find the bomber was corrupted. The Secret Service claims that all the text messages of its agents from January 6 were deleted, which independent experts have said is “highly unusual,” “not something any other organization would ever do,” and “ludicrous.” And a video released last month by Rep. Thomas Massie showed that after a passerby told them about the Democratic National Committee (DNC) pipe bomb, Capitol police did not react with alarm and let people, including children, walk past the alleged bomb.

“One of the many implausible aspects of the FBI’s pipe bomb narrative is that the device outside the Capitol Hill Club sat there overnight and for half the day,” Massie told Public, only to be discovered just minutes before the breach of the perimeter at the Capitol with the kitchen timer set to 20 minutes remaining.”

Reporter Julie Kelly reported that surveillance video appears to show an individual and a trained bomb-sniffing dog sweeping the premises a few hours before the DNC pipe bomb was discovered. If the bomb had been planted the day before, as the FBI claims, it is unclear how the Secret Service would have missed it.

Now, an experienced security analyst has come forward with a report for members of Congress, which shows in great detail that the FBI is misrepresenting the location of the alleged bomb allegedly found at the RNC.

EXCLUSIVE: RNC Security Officer Who Was First Responder To Jan 6 Pipe Bomb Says Official Story ‘Makes No Sense Whatsoever’

In first public remarks since incident, former Capitol Police officer says planted pipe bomb looked like police training item, should have been detected
Luke Rosiak
Feb 22, 2024

The device witnessed on January 6, 2021 behind the Capitol Hill Club near the RNC / Ken Capolino

The Republican National Committee’s director of security said that the explanation of the purported January 6 pipe bomb plot, and the response by authorities, “make no sense whatsoever.”

Kenneth Capolino, a former Capitol Police officer who went on to work as the RNC’s director of security, was the man who personally alerted Capitol Police to the bomb near the RNC and managed the emergency response.

Capolino told The Daily Wire, in his first public remarks on the incident, that it looked like a stereotypical IED, or improvised explosive device, that is used by law enforcement in training sessions. “Any of the IED awareness training I’ve been to with law enforcement, that’s like the quintessential training device,” he told The Daily Wire. “That’s exactly what it looks like.”

His firsthand account adds to questions about the purported pipe bombs, which went undetected for a long period of time outside both the RNC and its Democrat counterpart, the Democratic National Committee. The bomb plot is by far the most dramatic part of January 6, but the FBI has made no progress in determining who planted them — and Democrats investigating the plot appear to have gone out of their way to avoid mentioning their existence since.

Blaze News investigative writer Steve Baker says FBI wants him to self-surrender Friday in Dallas over his Jan. 6 reporting
Dave Urbanski
February 27, 2024

Blaze News investigative journalist Steve Baker said the FBI wants him to self-surrender to the agency Friday morning in Dallas over his January 6 reporting.

This time, it’s really happening.

Unlike the two previous threats my attorneys received from @FBI/ @thejusticedept

(Nov. 21 and Dec. 23), my self-surrender for alleged J6 crimes is set for this Friday morning in Dallas, TX. There is now a signed arrest warrant

What are the details?

Baker told Blaze News he's been instructed to turn himself in at the agency's field office at 7 a.m. wearing "shorts and sandals" — which he said signals that the plan likely is to go for "humiliation" and place him in an orange jumpsuit, handcuff him, and do the "prisoner transport routine."

He added that after he's taken to the Dallas courthouse, he'll appear at a 10 a.m. hearing before a federal magistrate.

"They didn’t have to go this route," Baker told Blaze News on Tuesday evening. "We have been told that my charges are only misdemeanors. And my attorneys have been assured that this will be an ‘in and out’ affair with 'no intention' to detain me. But rather than issuing a simple order to appear, they went the 'arrest warrant' route."

What's more, Baker said he still does not know what the charges against him are, noting to Blaze News that the powers that be won't tell his attorney about the charges because they believe Baker will post them on social media.

The Pipe Bombs Before Jan. 6: Capital Mystery That Doesn't Add Up
Julie Kelly, RealClearInvestigations
February 28, 2024

The newly disclosed video shows a dark SUV pulling up to the headquarters of the Democratic National Committee in Washington, D.C., at 9:44 a.m. on Jan. 6, 2021. It sits for several minutes until a uniformed man with a bomb-sniffing dog enters from the right and steps up to the vehicle. The driver complies with his command, the dog sniffs inside and outside the car which is soon allowed to enter the parking garage. The man and his dog exit back to the right.

This scene is unremarkable except for one detail: The uniformed man and his trained canine came within a few feet of where a plainclothes Capitol Police officer would soon discover a pipe bomb that had been planted there the night before. The bomb, which the FBI has described as viable and capable of inflicting serious injury, along with a similar one found at the headquarters of the Republican National Committee, would appear to be the most overt act of violence perpetrated on Jan. 6.

Responding to the video discovered by this reporter, Rep. Barry Loudermilk, the Georgia Republican who chairs the House Oversight Committee subcommittee now conducting a separate inquiry into Jan. 6, asked, “How could a bomb-sniffing dog miss a pipe bomb at the DNC? We’ll add this to our long list of unanswered questions and continue getting to the truth.”

The number of anomalies surrounding this still unsolved case continues to grow. These include:

The FBI has ordered investigative journalist and Blaze Media correspondent Steve Baker to turn himself in, but he believes the full story is even more corrupt than it sounds. Baker is facing misdemeanor charges connected to his reporting at the Capitol on January 6th, 2021. But he still hasn’t been told what the charges are. Steve joins Glenn to lay out how he’ll respond. For starters, the FBI told him to show up in shorts and flip flops so he can be marched out in an orange jumpsuit and leg chains — which is an extremely unprecedented move. But Steve tells Glenn what he’ll wear instead. And he also explains who he believes is really behind his arrest and the prosecution of many others who were at the Capitol: “There is ever more evidence of the insane corruption at the top of the Capitol Police…they are more powerful than Congress itself.”

Blaze News' Steve Baker released from courthouse after arrest over his Jan. 6 reporting — and notables have been reacting
Dave Urbanski
March 01, 2024

The charges are:

  • Knowingly entering or remaining in any restricted building or grounds without lawful authority
  • Disorderly and disruptive conduct in a restricted building or grounds
  • Disorderly conduct in a capitol building
  • Parading, demonstrating, or picketing in a capitol building

BlazeTV contributor Jill Savage noted Friday that she exited the courtroom with Baker, who "was able to wear his dress clothes but had shackles on his wrists and ankles. He is expected to be released today. His next hearing is set in DC for March 14th."

There appears to be so much cover-up within our own government, every day we're discovering something new. First, the January 6th Committee appears to have been directly hiding important testimony that went against the left's narrative. If any normal American did what they appear to have done, they would be arrested immediately. Second, the FBI's treatment of Blaze Media Correspondent Steve Baker, according to Rep. Barry Loudermilk (R-Ga.), might be signs that the FBI is attempting to cover up what Steve keeps exposing. Rep. Loudermilk joined me on radio last week to discuss all of that, plus the possible banning of TikTok within the United States.
