One of the Israeli hostages already released by Hamas said she reprimanded the leader of the terrorist group, Yahya Sinwar, when coming face-to-face with him.

Yocheved Lifshitz, who was freed in October prior to the current ceasefire, which has resulted in the release of dozens of hostages, told Sinwar that he should be "ashamed of himself" for his role in the Oct. 7 terrorist attacks. Hamas and other terrorist groups kidnapped roughly 240 people during the attacks, which resulted in the deaths of roughly 1,200 people.

“Sinwar was with us three to four days after we arrived. I asked him how he is not ashamed to do such a thing to people who have supported peace all these years,” Lifshitz told the Hebrew-language newspaper Davar during a protest for the return of hostages still held by Hamas, including her husband, on Tuesday.

A relative of another hostage told Channel 12 that Sinwar introduced himself to a group of hostages taken from the Nir Oz community, telling them, “Hello, I am Yahya Sinwar. You are the most protected here. Nothing will happen to you.”
